We were thrilled when Rous Iland agreed to be a stockist for the Avery and Sadie dresses from capri's new collection, Eye on the Sky. When we first visited their show room, their private shopping concept was exactly what capri had in mind when we first started our private open houses in Singapore! Rous Iland's multi-label boutique in Green Park stocks a good variety of chic and wearable clothing. It has a warm feel and makes you feel pampered without being intrusive at the same time.

One of the pet peeves I have about being in London is that shops close too early (an average of 7 pm). Since I have a fulltime job, making it out of the office by 6 pm in time to give me any shopping time at all on the High Street is virtually impossible. And on weekends, jostling with the hoardes of tourists can be rather unpleasant when you're tired after a long work week and just looking for an easy find of a new dress or blouse to sweeten the weekend.

A little bit about Rous Iland

More than just a shop, Rous Iland is a fashion community for the busy modern woman, a members’ boutique with a difference.

Clare Rous and Kara Iland, two ex city lawyers, got together after seeing a gap in the market for a fashion members’ style boutique. They formed Rous Iland in May 2007 for women with little time on their hands who needed something more than what’s on offer in the often expensive, overcrowded and unhelpful high street shops of today. The personal service and intimate space in their calm, private and tranquil Mayfair showroom is any fashion fiend’s dream in a perfect one-stop shop open whenever convenient for you.

Rous Iland offers a highly personalized VIP service to all its members. Free to join after a private consultation with stylists, Clare and Kara, who will then go on to create, plan and tailor your wardrobe needs and desires.

‘We take clients lifestyles into account, storing their sizes, likes and dislikes in a uniquely interactive online profile. Always on the look-out for new designers and niche brands, Clare and Kara source directional labels, flattering silhouettes and luxury fabrics to create a carefully edited capsule collection each season. Designers include cult labels Rebecca Talyor, Louise Amstrup, Noir, Karen Walker, Ginger & Smart and Marnie Skillings to name a few. Some new designers for this season include Osman, Sykes, Angel Schlesser and Hotel Particulier.
