Friends living in Shanghai have given me new recommendations to try when I next visit:
1. Lost Heaven (Indochinese) = 38 Gao You Lu, near Fu Xing Xi Lu, Tel 64335126
2. Shanghai Uncle (Shanghainese) = 211 Tian Yao Qiao Lu, Tel 64646430
3. Maya (Mexican) = 568 Ju Lu Lu, Tel 62896889
4. Haiku (Japanese) = 28B Tao Jiang Lu, Tel 64450021, near Hengshan Lu
5. Qiao Jiang Nan (aka 881 South Beauty) = 881 Yan-An Lu Near Shaanxi Nan Road, Tel 6247 5878
6. Jade on 36 - this is molecular cuisine/ “atas french food”. It's right on top of Pudong Shangri-La. Ask for a window table so u can have nice view of the Bund from Pudong.
7. Guyi hunan for spicy Chinese
8. La creperie at taojiang lu (near dongping lu)
9. Burgers (yes, burgers in shanghai!) - Gourmet cafe
